Lead Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance for the Dev team and help apprentices overcome blockers

  • Make technical recommendations for a solution that matches the organization’s technical and/or financial constraints

  • Create a technical roadmap with the Project Lead & Strategy

  • Figure out the details with the client and Product team around hosting, deployment, and launch needs for the project

  • Code the Design team’s pixel-perfect prototypes to spec

  • Implement responsive code to allow users to browse easily on mobile and tablets as applicable

  • Help develop and oversee HTML, CSS, JS, React, Bootstrap, Typescript code, and/or any other relevant language

  • Make recommendations for the best practices of technical implementation and coding

  • Follow requirements specs created by design and product teams

  • Ability to work within sprints and plan the scope of work each week with the team.

  • Act as a technical consultant with the design team to gauge the feasibility and complexity of proposed user experiences that are created

  • Along with the product owner, help the development team operate smoothly in-sprint

  • Allocate development tasks with the team

Apprentice Responsibilities

  • Work under the direction of the lead developer and product team to develop the project

  • Make technical recommendations for a solution that matches the organization’s technical and/or financial constraints

  • Help create a technical roadmap with the Project Lead & Strategy

Role Expectations

  • Deep understanding of Agile methods and development operations

  • Willingness to participate in sprint activities with the team, and consult the Design and Research teams in their sprint work when needed

  • Knowledge and understanding of how to collaborate with Research, Design, and Product teams within the scope of the project

  • Strong understanding of software development principles

  • Experience with multiple programming languages and no/low code tools

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities

  • Help the team with the technical implementation or code troubleshooting
